Twenty years of Nan Goldin's portraits of drag queens and trans women – her friends – photographed in Boston, New York, Paris, Berlin, Manila and Bangkok between 1972 and 1992. The title comes from The Other Side, a Boston drag bar Goldin frequented in the 1970s, and the book is her follow-up to The Ballad of Sexual Dependency: intimate, glamorous and tender, made from inside the scene rather than looking in.
