This 2021 volume presents Satomi Nihongi's series for the first time. Produced from the photographer's original vintage prints, the book brings together 126 portraits of Tokyo's transgender community taken throughout the 1970s. A rare and remarkable record of a community seldom represented at the time. Nihongi, an early collaborator of Nobuyoshi Araki and part of the photography collective Geribara Five, later became known for his photographs of London's punk scene.
